Spiral Stitch
This piece is based on the Japanese sashiko tradition of stitching. 'Raimon' or 'spiral stitch' was often used as a mending stitch, often on a man's 'nogi', or 'work coat'.
The linen is named 'Spessart Green' after the forest in Germany close to where the Irish linen weaver grew up.
White cotton thread hand stitched on dark green Irish linen.
